PEAK for Staff and Faculty
The PEAK Program
Professional Development Offerings for SCC Staff and Faculty
The PEAK Program offers staff and faculty professional development in the areas of: Technology, Customer Service, Leadership, and Inclusion. These areas will support your success, and, ultimately, our students' success! Sessions will also be offered supporting personal wellness.
The 30- to 45-minute sessions will provide tips, information, skills and insights that can be applied to your contributions to the College. In most cases, SCC faculty and staff will lead the classes. Program offerings support the College's Strategic Plan and related initiatives.
How Does PEAK Work?
Currently, most classes are presented via Zoom. The registration process is automated and registering for sessions is completed through the employee Portal. To register for a class, visit PEAK on mySCC Portal page here and click on the Zoom registration link next to the class you would like to attend. Sessions are limited to current SCC staff and faculty, and you are required to have an SCC email address to register.
You are not limited to the number of PEAK courses you attend, but it's recommended you check with your team leader prior to registration.
Once you have attended a PEAK Program class, provide your information to the Human Resource department to track your Learning & Development points (redeemable through our vendor, 3Cheers).
TEAMS Sites have been assigned to each of the core areas: Technology, Customer Service, Leadership, Inclusion and Wellness. You will have access to these specific areas of interest once you register for the course. Course handouts and supporting materials along with additional online opportunities are located in the appropriate TEAMS site.
Need a Moment to Connect?
Take a moment to connect with your colleagues across campus at Water Cooler Wednesdays and Take-Time Thursdays! These sessions are NOT classes – they are opportunities to engage socially with colleagues for 20 minutes. Each session features a pre-determined topic which is facilitated by a faculty or staff member. Register for these sessions in the same manner as a traditional PEAK class, and join your colleagues. Since these opportunities are for connecting and socializing, employees will not earn Learning & Development points.
