How do I register?
How to Register for Credit Classes
There are three ways to register at SCC:
- With an academic advisor
- Online through mySCC
- In person at the registration window (Not currently available due to pandemic)
Register early – it’s your best chance to get your chosen classes and schedule! See the academic calendar for important dates.
How you register depends on what type of student you are and what you need. See below:
Registering with an Academic Advisor (visit stchas.edu/advising for more information)
You’ll have to register with an academic advisor if you’re:
- A new student and plan to take 6 or more credit hours
- A student athlete
- On academic warning, probation, suspension, or reinstatement
Other students are encouraged to see an academic advisor, but you don’t have to.
Through mySCC
Save time – go online! Current and returning students may register for courses via SCC Connection in mySCC portal (you’ll need a login ID and password).
Showstoppers
If you have an outstanding balance or other holds on your account, you won’t be able to register until the holds are cleared. The Enrollment Services Department or the Cashier’s Office can give you more information.
Occasionally, we may have to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment or other extenuating circumstances. Whenever possible, we’ll cancel the class before the first meeting and let you know.
If you’re enrolled in a class that’s cancelled, you’ll get a full refund of tuition and course fees, or you may add another class before the end of the first week of classes.
Full Time or Part Time?
How to tell if you’re full time or part time:
Course Load | Fall/Spring | Summer |
---|---|---|
Full Time | 12 or more credit hours | 6 or more credit hours |
Part Time | 11 credit hours or fewer | 5 credit hours or fewer |
