“Education opens the door to future possibilities, even if you don’t go down the route of your degree,” said David. “It helps you get and keep a job.”

David worked for his family in construction for years after graduating from Fort Zumwalt West before deciding to take his career in a different direction.

“I knew I wanted to go into pre-engineering or drafting,” said David. “SCC helped me get there. My experience was great. The class sizes were perfect.” 

David landed a job in pre-engineering while finishing his degree at SCC. He credits his smooth transition into the workforce on the quality of education he received at SCC.

Once he started his job, he learned how detailed so many of the classes he took were at SCC. He was able to apply extra tidbits from classwork to his job.

“My company had already hired one person from SCC before hiring me,” said David. “It made me proud to be from SCC because my company hired me knowing I was well-prepared."
