SCC Board of Trustees Appoints New Member
Published: 09/01/2020
Mike Lissner was appointed to the SCC Board of Trustees at the Aug. 31 meeting, filling William Pundmann’s seat. Pundmann was reelected in 2018 to a six-year term but stepped down from the Board in June for family reasons. Lissner will serve until the next election of the SCC Board of Trustees in April 2022.
Lissner is a founding partner at Acropolis Investment Management. Prior to joining Acropolis, he spent 13 years in the advanced technology and financial services areas at Accenture. Lissner has served as a member of the SCC Foundation Board for 15 years. He lives in Lake St. Louis, Mo., and has two adult children, Luke and Guinevere.
“St. Charles Community College provides the type of education that leads to growth and success for people living in our community, including our employees and clients,” said Lissner. “I’m honored to contribute to the SCC Board of Trustees and help move the college forward.”
In addition to Lissner’s appointment, the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees swore in its elected members of 2020 – Pamela S. Cilek and Shirley Lohmar – at its June 29 Board meeting.
Cilek was first elected to the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees in April 2014 and has served as Board president and secretary during her tenure. A long-time resident of St. Charles County, Cilek is a retired educator who taught for 34 years, 26 of which were spent at SCC.
Lohmar, a retired elementary school principal and St. Charles County resident since 1972, was first appointed to the Board in June 2015 to fill the Board seat of her late husband, Judge William Lohmar and elected in 2016 to complete the unexpired term. She has served as Board vice president and treasurer during her tenure.
Lohmar was elected as the new Board president. Additionally, Rose Mack was elected vice president. Cilek will serve as secretary, and Mary Shnare Stodden will serve as treasurer and SCC Foundation liaison. Jean Ehlmann was appointed the legislative liaison.
The SCC Board of Trustees serves as the governing board for the college, which includes setting official college policies, approving the annual budget and major expenditures, and serving as advocates for the college at the local, regional and state level. The six members of the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees are elected citizens who serve six-year terms without pay.
