College for All Kids summer camps now enrolling at SCC
Published: 03/11/2020
Learning and having fun go hand-in-hand this summer at St. Charles Community College’s College for All Kids camps. The College for All Kids summer camps are now enrolling for more than 120 academic enrichment and sports camps to be held June 1-Aug. 14, for children ages 5-14. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) camps are areas of specialty.
From augmented reality to coding, cupcake wars to movie making, kids and teens will find something to inspire and motivate them at SCC.
“Each camp allows students to truly explore a topic. We believe it is important for us to keep pursuing students’ interests with fresh new camps and returning favorites each year,” said Amy Fitzwilliam, SCC program specialist. “We hope to be able to spark a student’s enthusiasm in new topics and open their eyes to new possibilities in learning and areas of interest.”
CFAK has a co-sponsorship with the University of Missouri Extension. Culinary camps such as Farm to Fork, Kids in the Kitchen, Cupcake Creations and Masterchef will be held at the St. Peters University of Missouri Extension. SCC will also have 3D printing camps at Inventor Forge–a makerspace located in the Economic Development Center (EDC) in Cottleville.
There will be additional camps at the SCC-Dardenne Creek campus in Dardenne Prairie, including YouTube Content Creators, Adventures in Augmented Reality, ESports, Junior Robotics, Cooking Up Science and more.
College for All Kids summer camps are committed to ensuring child safety. The camp provides a 10:1 safe ratio of students per staff member. All staff have background checks and attend training workshops. Camp assistants all have CPR, First-Aid and Epi-Pen training.
