SCC to host 'Clean Missouri' Panel and Voter Registration Drive on Feb. 11
Published: 01/31/2020
In November 2018, Missourians voted overwhelmingly for “Clean Missouri,” a constitutional amendment to “clean up” Missouri politics by limiting the power of lobbyists, reducing campaign contributions and creating a new redistricting process for state legislative seats.
This year, several bills in the Missouri State Legislature aimed undo many of the changes, especially with regard to the redistricting process.
To inform the public about “Clean Missouri,” and to address the related issues, the St. Charles Community College Political Science Department will host a “Clean Missouri” Panel from 10-11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building auditorium.
Panel speakers include: Nancy Miller, co-president of League of Women Voters, Metro St. Louis; Representative Scott Dieckhaus, Missouri House of Representatives, retired; and Ashton Kuehnel, Community Outreach Coordinator, Sierra Club of Missouri.
The League of Women Voters will also have a voter registration table outside of the SSB auditorium at the event.
