SCC to host new ballroom dance classes starting Aug. 19

St. Charles Community College will host new ballroom dance classes beginning on Monday, Aug. 19.
Participants will learn a variety of social dances in the classic ballroom style including waltz, tango and foxtrot as well as rhythm styles including cha cha, rumba and East coast swing. Students will learn the basic steps in each dance and develop an understanding of lead/follow techniques, turns, rhythm and special awareness on the dance floor. No partner is required for registration.
Classes meet one time per week for 8 weeks during their slotted time and are $55 per session.

- Ballroom I – 7 p.m. Monday-Monday, Aug. 19-Oct. 14
- Ballroom I – 7 p.m. Wednesday-Wednesday, Aug. 21-Oct. 9
- Rhythm I – 8 p.m. Monday-Monday, Aug. 19-Oct. 14
- Rhythm II – 8 p.m. Wednesday-Wednesday, Aug. 21-Oct. 9
- Ballroom II – 7 p.m. Monday-Monday, Oct. 21- Dec. 9
- Ballroom II – 7 p.m. Wednesday-Wednesday, Oct. 16-Dec. 11
- Rhythm II – 8 p.m. Monday-Monday, Oct. 21- Dec. 9
- Rhythm II – 8 p.m. Wednesday-Wednesday, Oct. 16-Dec. 11
Michael Fitzgerald is a nationally acclaimed instructor and competitor with fifteen years of full-time experience in the ballroom dance industry. He specializes in adapting class material to effectively reach students of all levels of ability.
