SCC to showcase spring 2019 Music Department concerts

St. Charles Community College will showcase the spring 2019 Music Department concerts at the campus’s Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater.
SCC students, faculty and community members will perform the music they’ve been working on all semester. Some concerts feature solo performers, and others are ensemble performances.
All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.:
- Friday, May 3 – Sophomore recital – Featuring Rachel Anthonis (soprano) and Rebekah Anthonis (soprano), assisted by Pamela Roussin (piano)
- Saturday, May 4 – Sophomore recital – Featuring Rebekah Ingle (saxophone) and Joshua Moore (trombone), assisted by Mark Reynoso (piano)
- Monday, May 6 – Concert band: “Beauty and Power” and Jazz Big Band: “The Music of Nat Adderley and Friends” with James A. Martin (conductor)
- Tuesday, May 7 – Combined choirs, SCC Singers and Chamber Choir: “Sing Me to Heaven… A Contemplation on Paradise” with Ken Tucker and Becky Thorn (conductors)
- Thursday, May 9 – Orchestra: “Footsteps of the Giant” with Mary Sweetin (conductor)
- Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17 – Musical theatre practicum performance – Kathleen Nuebling (director), assisted by Pamela Roussin (piano)
Our spring ensemble concerts are dedicated with love and remembrance to Gene C. Ditch II, SCC professor emeritus (1954-2019).
