SCC open house on April 25 to highlight academic programs, student services
Published: 04/01/2019
St. Charles Community College will showcase its offerings at an upcoming Academic Programs and Student Service Open House. The open house will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the auditorium of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building on its main campus at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Dr.
Attendees who check in at the door will be entered to win one of three scholarships valued at $500 and $1,000, and the first 100 prospective students who check in will receive a free SCC T-shirt.
“This is a great opportunity for our community to visit the SCC campus and learn about our many quality programs and services available to them,” said Brynne Cramer, SCC communications manager. “Whether you are considering SCC for college classes or are just interested in learning the ways we benefit our community, we invite you to come out and see what we have to offer!”
Representatives from the college’s eight academic pathways will be available to speak about their program offerings. Faculty from various academic disciplines will be there, too. SCC’s pathways include arts and humanities; business; computers and technology; education; manufacturing and industry; nursing, allied health and wellness; mathematics, agriculture, science and engineering; and social and behavioral science.
The open house will also showcase the many student services SCC has in place to aid in student success.
This event is free and open to the public, and free light refreshments will be served.
The first 75 open house attendees will receive a voucher that may be exchanged for a free ticket to that night’s Center Stage Theatre performance of “The Laramie Project” to experience the cultural richness SCC has to offer. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the theater of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building.
