Essayist Allison Coffelt to give public reading on April 9

Essayist Allison Coffelt will give a public reading and question-and-answer session at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Social Sciences Building, Room 1102. This reading is part of the 2019 Missouri Writers Series, sponsored and underwritten by the Missouri Humanities Council.

Allison Coffelt is the author of Maps Are Lines We Draw, which explores the culture and natural beauty of Haiti. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Hippocampus, Oxford Public Health Magazine, the Crab Orchard Review and elsewhere. She was a finalist in the 2015 Crab Orchard Review Literary Nonfiction Prize and the winner of the 2015 University of Missouri Essay Prize. She currently works as the director of education and outreach for the annual True/False Film Fest and hosts the True/False Podcast.
