Couples make real love "SCConnection" in Cottleville
Published: 02/01/2018
St. Charles Community College is the smartest choice in education. What’s not to like? But who knew that with a little luck, it’s also a pretty good place to fall in love.
Couples Allison and Brian Nelke and Lisa and Stephen Randoll are among the many who found love at SCC and both recently tied the knot.

Allison and Brian, SCC alums, met in their 2009 algebra class.
“Brian and I began talking more after we ran into each other at the mall outside of class,” Allison said. “We would help each other with homework on Facebook chat.”
After a year of friend-zoning Brian, Allison jokes that she finally “gave in” and they started dating in the fall of 2010.
“We had been dating for five-and-a-half years when we went to our friends’ concert. Halfway through the band’s set, Brian got on stage and proposed to me in front of all of our friends and family. It was so fun having everyone there to celebrate with us!”
Allison and Brian got married on Sept. 9, 2017, in New Town St. Charles.
“We could not have asked for a better day.”

Lisa and Stephen, SCC professors, met at work. What started as a friendship soon developed into a relationship. They bonded through a shared love of history, politics, pop culture and the Cardinals.
“On our first date, we watched Frozen together, and it kind of became a centerpiece of our story,” Lisa said. “I also have always loved Christmas – like a lot.”
The SCC professors said their “I dos” on Dec. 3, 2016, with a Frozen Disney Christmas-themed wedding.
“I never really thought that I would get married,” Lisa said. “Up until I met him, I never looked at wedding dresses. I never looked at reception halls. I never thought about any of that stuff because I never thought it would ever happen.”
