SCC soccer to host fourth annual summer camps
Published: 05/17/2016
St. Charles Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer announce their fourth annual summer camp is set for June 20-23 at the SCC soccer fields. The camp will focus on shooting, speed of play, agility, possession and defensive tactics.
There will be two camps. Each camp is $100 and includes a T-shirt.
The camp for players ages 5-13 will run 5-6:30 p.m., and the camp for high school aged players will run 6:30-8 p.m. Soccer Shots will assist with the younger-aged group.
“This is a great opportunity for players of all ages,” said Josh Tyler, SCC women’s head soccer coach. “It is perfect for the high school players who want a higher level of training. We will run each session just like a college practice. It will give them a great taste of what is expected at the next level.”
The camp will be led by Donnie Alberty, SCC men’s head soccer coach, and Coach Tyler along with training support from current and past SCC players.
The camps are powered by Kids4Kids. Kids4Kids is a St. Charles based 501(c) charity organization that focuses on helping kids with life threatening sickness. Kids4Kids raises money to help families with the small things, such as utility bills, games for the kids, etc. They run one of the largest 3-v-3 tournaments in the Midwest: Carnaval De Futebol.
“We are so excited to partner with the soccer program at SCC again this year,” said Brian Judy, Kids4Kids president. “They run a great program and are very focused on the community. Our mission has always been to have kids help raise money for other kids in need.”
