Center Stage Theatre to present ‘Waiting for Godot’ April 20-24
Published: 03/30/2016
St. Charles Community College’s Center Stage Theatre will present Waiting for Godot April 20-24, in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater on the SCC campus.
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, April 20-23; 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24. Tickets are free to SCC students with ID, or $8 general admission and $6 seniors, veterans and students. The campus is located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Vladimir and Estragon, while waiting for someone called Godot, play out the circular patterns of man’s life: they eat, argue, make up, contemplate death and meet/entertain others. The simplicity and circular nature of the play’s structure and character interactions reflect upon change, hope, the meaning of life and intellect vs. the non-rational; nothing is completed, and anything of substance is only found for our characters in the unity of time and place in which they exist together.
