SCC service learning students to host NO MORE Week of Action March 7-11

St. Charles Community College students will host a series of events for NO MORE Week of Action Monday-Friday, March 7-11, as part of their Sex, Gender and Society service learning course. NO MORE Week is a national grassroots activism aimed at making domestic violence and sexual assault awareness and prevention a priority year-round.
The events are free and open to the public.
“Celebrate Men Too” and panel discussion
11:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, in the Private Dining Room of the Student Center
Watch a screening of “A Call to Men,” a TED Talk by Tony Porter. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion about engaging men in the movement to end sexual assault and domestic violence.
Go Blue to #ShowNOMORE
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the Student Center, SSB Lounge and College Center rotunda
Stop by any of our #ShowNOMORE stations to paint a T-shirt and show your support for the NO MORE campaign. A limited number of free T-shirts will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students can provide their own white or black T-shirt to paint as well.
“The Mask You Live In” documentary
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the SSB Auditorium
“The Mask You Live In” is a documentary that follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. This documentary showing is co-hosted by SAGE (Straights and Gays for Equality). Free popcorn and additional concessions will be available for purchase.

Has anyone ever told you to man up? Have you ever told someone to act like a man? Look for life-size silhouette’s featuring SCC student testimonials and help change the conversation.
Step Up! Training
1-3 p.m. Friday, March 11, in SSB 1102
