SCC student Nikki Haney wins top prize at SCC Student Film Festival

This was the best year in terms of SCC entries, high school entries and award program audience attendance.
The winners of the SCC Student Film Festival are as follows:
Music Video: Non-narrative work set to a single piece of music that captures the essence of the sound in a form of a story or creative output. May include minimal footage from other sources.
- First Music Video: Leave This Town by Kayla Burgess of Francis Howell Central High School
- Second Music Video: If My Heart Was a House by Dylan Pritchard of Francis Howell High School
Comedy: Original or minimally inspired works of comedy. The film should challenge, entertain and/or provoke.
- First Comedy: Twelve Hours of Grant Jennings by Anthony Tabacchi and Grant Jennings of St. Charles West High School
- Second Comedy: The Great Escape by Elijah Jauernig of Francis Howell Central High School
Experimental/Animation: All remaining genres of programs including, but not limited to, animation, experimental, computer graphics, special effects and stop-frame techniques. All footage must be original.
- First Experimental/Animation: Play by Darby Copeland of Francis Howell Central High School
- Second Experimental/Animation: Making a Pizza Jerianne Harrison of Francis Howell Central High School
Drama: Original or minimally inspired works of drama. The film should challenge, entertain and/or provoke.
- First Drama: Gray by Adrian Petrosian, Douglas Quarks and Jake Marino of St. Charles West High School
- Second Drama: Broken by Dylan Kuehner of St. Charles Community College
Documentary: A presentation that records actual living characters and settings and/or details historical or current events. Infomercials, public relations videos and promotional films are not eligible.
- First Documentary: Things I Should Have Said by Nikki Haney of St. Charles Community College
- Second Documentary: Warrior Vision Documentary by Brandon Daugherty of St. Charles West High School
Overall Winner: Things I Should Have Said by Nikki Haney of St. Charles Community College
Audience Favorite: Things I Should Have Said by Nikki Haney of St. Charles Community College
High School Trophy: St. Charles West High School
Cash prizes were awarded to the winners of each category, the overall winner and the audience favorite. All entries received feedback from judges and some screen time during the awards ceremony, and the winners were screened in their entirety.
