“Dr. Fisher is an exceedingly accomplished leader in high-technology science and engineering,” said David Niermann, SCC associate professor and pre-engineering program coordinator. “We have been very fortunate to have him on campus a number of times to share perspectives and experiences with our pre-engineering students. He is a passionate advocate of the value of education.”

Fisher leads the Emerging Technologies Research Group for SunEdison developing new platform products with a 3-5 year horizon. He joined the company in 1985 and has held various positions within the manufacturing and R&D organizations. SunEdison designs, manufactures and services high-technology materials and products worldwide through two company segments – Solar Energy and Semiconductor Materials.

He has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 published papers and two patents. He is a member of the Electrochemical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Graham received a B.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Salford in the U.K. and a Ph.D. degree in materials science from the University of London.

“SCC students and their families will benefit greatly from listening to Dr. Fisher,” said Ron Chesbrough, Ph.D., SCC president. “The partnership between education and field practice is so important, and his support of education is vital to the success of our students and our community.”

Fisher recently spoke at the 2014 STEM Recognition Breakfast, hosted by the Partners for Progress of St. Charles County. He serves on the University of Missouri’s Electrical & Computer Engineering Industrial Advisory Board, is an adjunct professor at Kansas State University, was an Honorary Teaching Fellow at London University and an Honorary Research Fellow at Warwick University.
