SCC Young People's Theatre to present 'The Legend of Sleeping Beauty' Oct. 18-20

The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19, and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 19-20.
“The Legend of Sleeping Beauty” is a classic story of a beautiful princess and a jealous witch whose curse sets into motion a 16-year saga, culminating in a battle between good and evil. The quaint charm of the woodland creatures and the pageantry of the court combine to weave a spell of entertainment that will entrance the whole family.
Cast members from St. Peters include Baily Blessing, Mallory Echelmeyer, Thomas Fister, Eric Hahn, Grace Kotraba, Michael Kramer, Luke Larabee, Zoe Meier, Rain Northrop, Alex Pendel, Gillian Pendel, Mitchell Stille, Tessa Stille, Eric Weidig, Joe Weidig and Rachel Weidig.
Cast members from O’Fallon include Sam Bottini, Katelyn Burns, Abbey Feldt, Abby Griffith, Josiah Hahn, Andrew Salmo, Madeleine Smith, Becca Waligurski and Curtis Waligurski.
Cast members from St. Charles include Daniel Borrelli, Zac Cary, Andrew Feigenbaum, Syndey Koehler and Cassondra Tomkins.
Cast members from Dardenne Prairie include Jana Bowman, Mikayla Bowman, C.J. Powell, Maddie Powell, Rich Powell, Margaret VanSant, Cecilia VanSant and Presley Weber.

The production is based on Briar Rose by the Brothers Grimm. The book lyrics are by Thomas W. Reiser. Music and lyrics are by Alan W. Gill, and additional music and lyrics are by Laura Derocher.
SCC’s Young People’s Theatre provides quality family theater productions through the college’s Corporate & Community Division. YPT offers children and young adults ages 8-19 the opportunity to learn all aspects of theater production through a variety of classes and participation in live theater productions.
