“Keeping a quality higher education accessible in St. Charles County is a community-wide effort,” said Kasey McKee, vice president for college advancement. “And that’s exactly what Rhythm and Ribs is all about – bringing the community together to support education.”

New rib vendors Bandana’s Bar-B-Q and Stumpy’s House of Bar-B-Que and Catering, joined returning favorites Ethyl’s Smokehouse and Saloon and Mannino’s Market. Chick-Fil-A, MO Kettle Corn and Quintessential Catering served up other fare, and beverages included beer by Krey Distributing and O’Fallon Brewery, wine by Terra Firma USA, specialty teas and lemonade by Red Robin and bottled water by Ameristar.

“It was a beautiful evening and great to see so many come out to help the community college,” said Scott Lewis, Cottleville city administrator/chief of police and event chair. “We want to extend a special thank you to employees from UPS for their help with set-up, as well as more than 100 volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event a success,” Lewis said.

In addition to music by Smash Band, guests enjoyed the St. Charles West Jazz Ensemble and a rhythm revue/variety hour featuring Evidence Sings, Eric Moeller and the Strummalongs, Kentucky Stringz, St. Louis Bella Corda, Sean Chadwick and vocal groups from Mozingo Music.

Lewis and Chuck Pilliod, CFO at Krey Distributing Co., were this year’s Rhythm and Ribs event co-chairs.

The three “Main Stage” sponsors were Ameren Missouri, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital/Progress West HealthCare Center and SSM St. Joseph Health Center/SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.

“Rock Star” sponsors were Acropolis Investment Management, Commerce Bank, Enterprise Bank & Trust, Fastlane Convenience Stores, General Motors, Krey Distributing, NHC HealthCare & Rehabilitation, Paric Corporation and UPS. “Ribster” sponsors were Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, First State Bank, Heffernan Insurance Brokers, THF Realty and U.S. Cellular.
