Center Stage Theatre to Present "Harvey" Feb. 29-March 4 at SCC
Published: 02/07/2012
The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, Feb. 29-March 1, at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, March 2-3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4. There will be a high school matinee performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 1.
Written by Mary Chase, “Harvey” is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American classic about mild-mannered Elwood P. Dowd and his mysterious friend, a six-foot-tall rabbit named Harvey. Unfortunately, no one else can see Harvey, and most of Elwood’s friends and family are convinced that he is crazy. This play has delighted audiences for decades as it poses the question and possibility of "believing" in what seems to be the impossible.
The play will be directed by Pam Cilek. Cast members from St. Charles include: Paul James as Elwood and Samantha Bonomo as Nurse Kelly. Cast members from St. Peters include: Justin Spurgeon as Dr. Chumley, Rebecca Loughridge as Veta Louise Simmons, Wes Meinhold as Dr. Sanderson, Jordyn Wofford as Myrtle Mae Simmons, David Smithson as Wilson and Emily Sikorski as Mrs. Chauvenet. Cast members from O’Fallon include Joshua Kaestner as Cabbie and Tami Simon as Mary the maid. Additional cast members include Paul Luft, of St. Louis, as Judge Gaefney, and Jessica Ellis, of Wentzville, as Mrs. Chumley.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and college students with ID. Tickets will be offered at a special reduced price of $5 for everyone on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
