SCC Alumna and Professor to Perform Oboe Recital on July 10

Walker will perform alongside SCC alumna Cassie Loges and SCC concert band member Jessica Sommer. Loges, a recent University of Massachusetts-Amherst graduate, will play the English horn, and Sommer, a recent graduate of Florida State University, will play the oboe.
The recital will feature works by Beethoven, Powning, Ardévol and Cadow.
Prior to becoming a faculty member at SCC, Walker held many professional positions, including principal oboe of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Guadalajara, the USAF Heritage of America Band, and the Orquesta Sinfónica del Ecuador. Walker has also served on the music faculty of the National Conservatory of Ecuador and he is a Fulbright Scholar.
