Allred will perform musical masterpieces straddling the turn of the 20th century. His program will include music by Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, Charles Ives and Serge Prokofiev.
Allred, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Allred maintains a very active performance career, both as a solo pianist and as a collaborator chamber musician. An avid champion of modern and newly composed music, he has recently performed with the Dallas Festival of Modern Music, the University of North Texas Center for Chamber Studies, the Nova Ensemble, and he served as the resident pianist in the prestigious University of Texas at Austin New Music Ensemble. In the spring of 2010 Reuben travelled with fellow colleagues to the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, China, to perform and to help establish a permanent chamber music program.
