Center Stage Theatre to Present "Isn't It Romantic" April 21-25 at SCC
Published: 04/09/2010
The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, April 21-24, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25. There will be a high school matinee performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 22.
“Isn’t It Romantic” is a bright comedy that follows the post-college careers of two former classmates, Julia Blumberg and Harriet Cornwall. Both are struggling to escape from well-meaning, yet overbearing, parents and to establish their own lives and identities. Told in a fast-moving series of alternately hilarious and touching scenes, the story explores the parallel stories of these two very different women. This play has mature language and content.
The play is based on the book by Wendy Wasserstein and will be directed by Deborah Phillips. Jeff Roop is the technical director and Allison Summers is the stage manager. Scene design will be done by Lonna Wilke and costume design by Sandra Davis.
Cast members include: Samantha Bonomo as Janie Blumberg, Cailyn Blair as Harriet Cornwall, Josh Rowland as Marty Sterling, Cori Stallard as Tasha Blumberg, Christine Newport as Lillian Cornwall, Justin M. Spurgeon as Paul Stuart, Jordan Shelton as Vladimir and Greg Faupel as Simon Blumberg.
