High School Math Tournament Winners Announced

Schools participating in the March 6 tournament were: Christian, Clayton, Fox, Francis Howell North, Governor French Academy, Hickman, Ladue, Lindbergh, Lutheran St. Charles, North Callaway, Oakville, Parkway Central, Parkway South, Rock Bridge, St. Dominic, St. Louis University High (SLUH), Trinity and Villa Duchesne.
First Place, 9th Grade: Max Schindler (Ladue, Target and Sprint Round). Second Place, 9th Grade: Haohang Xu (Ladue, Target and Sprint Round). Third Place, 9th Grade: Daniel Shyu (Hickman, Target Round) and Uttara Charkraborty (Parkway Central, Sprint Round). Fourth Place, 9th Grade: Smitha Milli (Francis Howell North, Target and Sprint Round) and Uttara Charkraborty (Parkway Central, Target Round). Fifth Place, 9th Grade: Charles Shang (Rock Bridge, Sprint Round).

First Place, 12th Grade: Yanwen You (Ladue, Target and Sprint Round). Second Place, 12th Grade: Liz Godar (Villa Duchesne, Target Round) and Zack Talken (St. Dominic, Sprint Round). Third Place, 12th Grade: David Lee (Parkway Central, Target Round) and Kefu Lu (Parkway Central, Sprint Round). Fourth Place, 12th Grade: Billy Busch (Fox, Target Round) and Steve Koch (St. Dominic, Sprint Round). Fifth Place, 12th Grade: Brent Mathis (Parkway Central, Target Round) and Kevin Zheng (Parkway Central, Sprint Round).
First place in the tournament relay competition went to Ladue High School and included team members Max Schindler, Haohang Xu and Yanwen You.
Overall team test competition results for small schools: Charlie Beard and Chester Yap of Clayton, first place; Cecilia Photinos of Lutheran St. Charles, second place; Valerie Free and Danny Ticona of St. Dominic, third place; Jon Musgrave, Eddie Ross and Alana Schlemmer of Trinity, fourth place; and Ellen Hilmes, Amy Lewandowski and Ryan Mircsov of Trinity, fifth place.
Overall team test competition results for large schools: Max Schindler, Melissa Wang, Haohang Xu and Yanwen You of Ladue, first place; Reetom Bera, Vikram Ponnusamy and Naaim Siddiqi of Parkway South, second place; Uttara Charkraborty, Ahmed Eltahir, Brent Mathis and Kevin Zheng of Parkway Central, third place; Luke Chellis, Georgianan Jin, Mark Rapisardo, Chang Wei, David Yao and Meng Zuo of SLUH, fourth place; Dylan Adams, David Lee and Kefu Lu of Parkway Central, fifth place; and Kyle Burkhart of Lindbergh, fifth place.
The overall awards for the annual Area High School Math Tournament went to: Clayton, first place small school and Ladue, first place large school.
