SCC to Host Annual Conference for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators

This conference is designed for writers and illustrators of all different experience levels who want to learn about writing and illustrating great children’s literature. There will be three categories of breakout sessions: the apprentice track for beginning writers, the master’s track for experienced writers, and the illustrator’s track.

Illustrators are invited to bring a portfolio or sample of their work to display at the event. No fee or registration is necessary.

The cost for the conference is $115 general registration, and $95 for SCBWI members prior to Oct. 10.  The cost after Oct. 10 is $110 for members and $135 for non-members.  Lunch is included in the registration fee.

Featured presenters will include award-winning illustrators and writers as well as editors and agents. The keynote speakers include Lin Oliver, co-founder and executive director of SCBWI; Steve Mooser, president and co-founder of SCBWI; Namrata Tripathi, executive director at Atheneum Books; and Bree Ogden, agent at Martin Literacy Management.
