SCC Foundation Announces Next Topic in Summer Speaker Series
Published: 07/27/2009
Ben Blanton, president of Blanton Construction Company, will be the next speaker in the series. Blanton will discuss how “You Can Change the World” at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in the auditorium of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building on the college campus in Cottleville.
Blanton began his company in 1970 as a custom residential builder. Over the years, he has branched out to take projects in commercial construction, retail chain store construction, and institutional work. The company has worked in 22 states. Blanton’s philosophy has always been based on the belief that integrity and excellence are the keys to a successful, and ultimately profitable, business.
Registration for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by continental breakfast and networking at 7:45 a.m. Blanton will be available after he speaks for a question and answer session. There is no charge for the event.
“This discussion will be filled with great information about how one person can impact the world,” said Edie Kirk, associate vice president for Foundation and alumni relations at SCC.
