Two SCC Employees Honored Among "50 Over 50"

Edie Kirk and Joyce Lindstrom recognized by Saint Charles Business Magazine
Edie Kirk, associate vice president for Foundation and alumni relations, directs the SCC Foundation and the alumni relations programs. She works with a board of directors made up of 28 volunteer community leaders who raise funds for scholarships and education programs at the college. Kirk is a Certified Fund Raising Executive with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, and management, as well as 10 years of experience in corporate marketing and sales. Kirk has a Master of Arts degree in nonprofit administration from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Nichols College in Massachusetts. Among many affiliations, she is a member of the St. Charles Rotary, the Cottleville/Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce, the St. Charles chapter of Zonta International, the St. Louis chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the St. Charles chapter of ESPW, a women’s professional organization. Kirk and her husband have three children and four grandchildren.
Joyce Lindstrom, Ed.D., professor of math and coordinator of SCC’s education program, has taught math for more than 40 years, and has taught at SCC since 1988. Over the past year, Lindstrom has been working with the college’s math faculty on a project to better prepare high school students for college-level math. She wrote the proposal to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to begin the education program at SCC, and she helped design the college’s Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Lindstrom has a doctorate in education from the University of Missouri, a Master of Science degree in teaching from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University. Lindstrom and her husband have three children and 12 grandchildren.
