SCC to Host 'Between the Covers' Book Club

“Having an SCC-wide book club promotes reading, unique conversations and camaraderie on campus,” said Mandi Smith, SCC student activities manager. “It’s been such a positive experience so far. We really have created a little book-loving community, and I’m excited to watch it continue to grow.”

Meetings will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center Information Commons at the dates listed below, unless otherwise noted. There will be refreshments and giveaways at each meeting.

Wednesday, Aug. 26

Join the Between the Covers Book Club for its kick-off meeting. 

Wednesday, Sept. 23

Attendees will discuss “Clybourne Park” by Bruce Norris.

Wednesday, Oct. 21

Join the Between the Covers Book Club for “The Shining” panel at 1 p.m. in the SSB auditorium followed by a screening of the film at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 28

Attendees will discuss “The Shining” by Stephen King.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

Attendees will discuss “The Martian” by Andy Weir.
